Optimum Performance dominate in Cambridgeshire

PRE-RACE favourites Optimum Performance RT lived up to their status with a winning margin of 4-35 in the Unity CC four-up 50km time trial. Their quartet of Paul Curran, Mark Lovatt, Wayne Randle and Gary Speight recorded 1-01-30 for the E2 course at Sawston, Cambridgeshire.

The local composite team of John McClelland, Les Pick, Jon Hunt and Tim Cox had their hopes dashed when Pick punctured after only two miles. Down to three men, their 1-06-05 was still over three and a half minutes faster than the third-placed Chelmer CC quartet.
