Star rider Curran's in charge

THORNABY cyclist Paul Curran (Manchester Wheelers) had a fine double win in Cleveland.

Curran started with Roxy Wheelers' 20 1/2 mile time trial based at Scaling Dam on the Moors road and won in a time of 55 minutes 3 seconds, with David Lund (Middridge CRT) 1 min 41 sec slower in second place but over a minute ahead of Neville Jackson, from the promoting club, in third.

Paul's second win came the following day when in wet and cold conditions, 46 riders set out on the 63 mile Northern Velo Spring Road Race.
