Cammish's Bank Holiday triumph

BRITISH BEST ALL-ROUNDER CHAMPION Ian Cammish (GS Strada-Eifel) came north for his Bank Holiday weekend competition which he opened by winning the Cleveland Wheelers' ten-mile time trial on the A19 south of Crathorne.

Establishing a winning margin of more than half a minute, Cammish thrashed around the dual-carriageway course in a superb 21min 36sec to beat Thornaby's international rider Paul Curran (Manchester Wheelers) on a less than perfect day.

Curran, who hopes to be a member of Great Britain's Olympic team in Los Angeles later this year covered the course in 22min 8sec on his way to the runner-up position, finishing 13 seconds ahead of Paul Cunningham (GS Metro) in third place.
