Local lad takes fourth

Six riders contested the placings at the end of the 12-mile schoolboys' and schoolgirls' event. Leading out in the final 60-yards, Teesside Clarion's Dave Thompson held off Hull's Chris Mann and Steve Jennings.

The promoting club's Paul Curran finished fourth ahead of Clarion rider Steve Bell and Andrew Allen, of Cleveland Wheelers.
