TRIPLE national track champion, Paul Curran (Manchester Wheelers-Trumanns Steel) had a successful time trialling weekend winning Saturday's Seacroft Wheelers "10" and the Sunderland Clarion "25" on Sunday.
He completed the Dishforth-based V1110 course in North Yorkshire in 21-0 to win the Seacroft Wheelers promotion by 45 seconds from Phil Bell (Bradford Wheelers) and with third-placed Stuart Whaley (Hull Coureurs) a further 10 seconds slower.
Wet and very windy conditions awaited Curran in the Sunderland race at Kirkwhelpington, Northumberland. His efforts the previous afternoon slowed him, but he was still five seconds too fast for Michael McVittie (Barnesbury CC) with 57-57. Derek Gillings was third in 59-47.
