Cleveland Coureurs Australian Pursuit

Lundy wins, but Paulding takes series

TEESSIDE Clarion junior David Lund won the final event of the Cleveland Coureurs mid-week Australian Pursuit. Lund and Northern Velo's Mike Milen took an early lead and stayed clear of the field for the whole 33 miles on the Great Ayton-Easby circuit.

Milen finished as runner-up, 25 seconds before VC Europa's Brad Thurrell outsprinted Stockton Wheeler Paul Curran for third place with Dinnington's Richard Stevely and Kevin Byers, of Thornaby CRT-Been Bag, filling the next two places.

Cleveland Wheeler Steven Palding took the overall series victory with Curran and Teesside Clarion's Steve Bell in second and third places.
