Cleveland Division 4,000m Pursuit Championship

Champion Curran races in

STOCKTON Wheeler Paul Curran rode to his third successive British Cycling Federation Cleveland divisional individual pursuit title at Clairville Stadium on Wednesday evening. He took a comfortable victory in the final against Teesside Clarion's junior Richard Stevely who, at his first attempt, claimed the silver medal.

Curran covered the 4000 meter final in 5 min 19.4 sec. to add the 1980 title to those he won in 1978-79.

In the ride-off for third place Stockton Wheeler Hilton McMurdo beat Cleveland divisional road champion Steve Bell of the Teesside Clarion to take the bronze medal.
